In business for over 40 years and founded by a proud disabled U.S. military veteran, Advanced Machine & Tool Co., Inc. is committed to manufacturing top-quality products designed to meet the needs of aerospace, commercial, and defense industries.
The story of Advanced Machine & Tool Co., Inc. began in 1980 in a borrowed room in the back of a gas station in Essex Center, Vermont. Frank Simms, a former machinist in the U.S. Navy, started out initially repairing boat propellers, due to the need for such a service in the area. One year later with three employees on the payroll, the company bought property in the neighboring city of Essex Junction, where they worked out of an over sized two bay garage and a separate building housing the propeller repair shop. In 1990, they were on the move again to their current state-of-the-art 12,000 square-foot facility for machining and manufacturing located in Milton, Vermont.
From its early start with just one automated machine and the owner returning to school to learn Computer Aided Design (CAD), Advanced Machine & Tool Co., Inc. has grown in careful strides, maintaining constant quality each step of the way. Today, the company employs a high-caliber team of more than 15 individuals from the military, aerospace and high-tech sectors; boasts five axis CNC machining centers; and proudly incorporates the ‘5S’ system in all aspects of its manufacturing. In a continuing effort to improve customer satisfaction and quality, the company is now AS9100D / ISO 9001:2015 Certified.
Advanced Machine & Tool Co., Inc., is successfully meeting the needs of our customers in many countries in a variety of industries. Let Advanced Machine & Tool Co., Inc. put its commitment to quality and exceptional customer service to work for you!
Henry Ford once said, “Quality means doing it right when no one is looking.” Our quality has been in the forefront of the company’s goals since the very beginning, with our excellent lead times being a close second. The reason we have outlasted so many competitors continues to be our commitment to producing a high quality product, at a competitive price for our customers, when they need it. Our Quality department is headed by Steve Carlin, who has been committed to the company and quality since the beginning, and was one of the original three employees.
Carlin has always looked at each part as if it were his own, from the early days of production out on the floor to now as Quality Assurance Manager. With a state of the art inspection department, additional management and every employee having the same commitment to quality, “putting out excellent parts is what we do!”
